IVP Project

App Example Image

IVP is a collaborative app concept designed around a very specific student problem: finding parking in Isla Vista quickly and with less stress. In the project image, the interface shows a clean home screen with a live availability count, a mapped view of nearby streets such as Sabado Tarde Road, Pardall Road, and Embarcadero, and location markers that make the idea feel practical instead of just theoretical. The slogan “Find. Park. Earn.” also points to the larger concept behind the app, which is not only navigation but also user participation and incentives. My role focused on researching the concept, shaping the financial side of the proposal, and thinking through its business and marketing potential. Overall, the project combines interface design, local problem-solving, and entrepreneurial thinking into one mobile experience.

Trance Song Project

Audio | 2026 | independent | Kiavi Luh

Trance Soundtrack.

This trance song project explores music-making through code by turning a Jupyter notebook into a tool for composition and structure. Instead of building the piece in a conventional digital audio workstation, I used programming to organize patterns, repetition, timing, and variation, then rendered the results into an audio track. The finished piece develops through gradual layering, recurring rhythmic ideas, and small but important shifts in texture, which are all central to trance and electronic music. What makes the project interesting to me is that it sits between composition and systems thinking: the code is not just a technical step, but part of the creative process itself. The final WAV on this page represents an experiment in using computation as a musical instrument for form, pacing, and sonic development.

Expansion Project

Concept Website | 2025 | independent | Kiavi Luh

Concept, Randomized Lego Model.

The Expansion project documents and presents a concept website for “Emergent Order,” a participatory sculpture built with LEGO pieces. From the project video, you can see the work as a process-based object rather than a fixed final form: colorful bricks, a base plate, and active hands all emphasize assembly, change, and contribution over a single finished outcome. Conceptually, the project is about the balance between structure and unpredictability. It draws from instruction-based art by setting a framework for participation, while still allowing each person’s choices to affect the evolving form. The website functions as both documentation and explanation, showing how collaboration, play, and material experimentation can become part of the design itself rather than something separate from the final artifact.

Enlightment Project

Music Composition | 2026 | independent | Kiavi Luh

Original composition created from scratch in Ableton Live 12 for the Enlightment Project.

The Enlightment Project is a fully original composition that I built from scratch in Ableton Live 12. The arrangement view shows how the piece was constructed across a full three-minute structure using many separate layers, including kick, clap, closed and open hats, snare fills, crash, sub, synth guitar, warm analog pad, muted chords, night pad, prism arp, synthetic strings, and transition effects such as noise lifts and downfalls. Rather than relying on a loop alone, I organized the track into sections with repetition, variation, and dynamic changes so the song keeps moving while still feeling cohesive. I also used return effects such as room and echo to shape depth and space in the mix. This project represents my work as composer, arranger, and producer, and the second slide shows the actual Ableton session where the song was built.
